How to Save a Drenched Phone

Dropping your phone in water can be a nightmare scenario for anyone. However, if you act quickly, you may be able to save your drenched phone from complete destruction. Here are some tips on how to save a drenched phone.

Firstly, turn off the phone immediately and remove any protective covers or cases. Do not turn it on again until it has completely dried out. Then, gently shake any excess water out of the phone and use a towel to pat it dry. Be sure to remove the SIM card and any other removable parts and dry them separately. Place the phone in a bag of uncooked rice or silica gel packets, which will absorb the remaining moisture. Leave it there for at least 24-48 hours before attempting to turn it on again. If you have a fan or a hairdryer, you can also use them to speed up the drying process, but be sure to use the cool setting only.

By following these tips, you may be able to save your drenched phone from permanent damage. However, if the phone still does not turn on after it has dried out, it may be time to consider taking it to a professional for repair or replacement. In any case, it’s always better to act quickly when your phone gets wet to maximize your chances of saving it.
